Arga Raises 0M Seed from General Catalyst to Build Enterprise Simulation Sandboxes for AI Agents

Arga, a startup developing synthetic simulation environments for training enterprise AI agents, has raised $10 million in a seed funding round led by General Catalyst. The round included participation from Box Group, Emergence, Gradient, and SV Angel.

The company builds functional digital twins of enterprise SaaS platforms—such as Salesforce, Workday, and standard email infrastructure—to create sandboxed testing grounds for reinforcement learning (RL) workflows.

Addressing the Enterprise Reinforcement Learning Gap

While AI software engineering agents have benefited from programmatic code execution environments with instant rollbacks and automated verification, enterprise business workflows have lacked equivalent simulation tooling. Production enterprise applications typically cannot be reset, cloned, or mutated safely during large-scale RL training runs.

Arga addresses this limitation by replicating full software structures, including permission boundaries and webhook behaviors, within isolated mock environments:

  • Stateful Simulation: Rather than providing stateless mock API endpoints, Arga instantiates complete environment states that can be reset instantaneously between rollout episodes.
  • Cross-Application Disambiguation: The platform allows agents to train against complex, multi-system workflows—such as resolving conflicting customer records between HubSpot and Salesforce while managing deduplication across outreach channels.
  • Parallel Episode Execution: Developers can run thousands of parallel scenario variations to evaluate failure modes, policy compliance, and multi-agent coordination before deploying agents into live production software.

Enterprise Deployment Demand

According to Arga CEO and co-founder Philip Li, resolving ambiguity across overlapping corporate software suites represents a critical blocker for autonomous office agents. General Catalyst managing director Yuri Sagalov highlighted that repeatable sandbox environments will be essential as enterprises attempt to move agents from passive assistive copilots to autonomous execution across core business applications.
